06 Jun Free Booth for a Year!
Good morning dealers,
Besides selling great stuff and making customers happy, the thing we enjoy most is having fun. Today and tomorrow, we’re going to do just that.
Any dealer who comes to see Janie and pre-pays for the July show by noon tomorrow will have their name placed in a fishbowl. Tomorrow afternoon, we will begin drawing names until only one remains. The last dealer standing will receive a free single indoor booth for an entire year — over $3,000 in booth rent to one lucky dealer.
Why would we do this? That’s an excellent question. Our accountant has asked the same thing several times.
Some might say we’re slightly crazy. We prefer to think of it as “aggressively optimistic.”
Here’s the deal: we do not require pre-payment, but being a month ahead helps reduce our no-show problem. This month we turned dealers away, maintained a waiting list, and still had too many no-shows. That’s a little like making dinner reservations for 20 people, cooking a feast, and then finding out half of them decided to stay home and watch reruns of Antiques Roadshow.
If you’re receiving messages from us, it means we’re counting on you being here. If your plans change, please give us the courtesy of a text or phone call. Empty booths don’t buy tickets, don’t attract customers, and unfortunately cannot be charged rent.
For those of you who have already pre-paid, don’t worry — your name is already in the fishbowl. We are not punishing responsibility. In fact, for once, responsibility may actually pay off.
So come see Janie, pre-pay for July, and take your shot at becoming the only dealer in America who can honestly tell customers, “I don’t know what this item is worth, but my booth rent is free.”
Good luck. One of you is about to have a very good year.
P.S. Yesterday’s crowd was up 54% over Friday of the June 2025 show. Apparently word is getting out that there are treasures to be found here. Or maybe they’re just coming to see if we’re really giving away a year’s worth of booth rent. Either way, we’ll take it.
