26 Feb West Palm Set up by Alfred Lord Tennyson
Dear West Palm Beach Exhibitors,
“Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.”
Not to worry—no actual valley of death this time. Just set-up.
We ride again for the West Palm Beach Antique Festival, March 6–8, and before the doors open and the crowds arrive, there is the charge.
SET-UP DAY:
Thursday, March 5
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.– lineup like orderly cavalry for early arrivers in front of West Expo-gate 12
“Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns!” he said.
(What he meant was: unload, straighten, and keep the aisles clear.)
A few standing orders from command:
- Yours is not to arrive early. Set-up begins promptly at 8:00 a.m.
- Yours is but to do and die… or at least unload efficiently and follow staff direction.
- Keep aisles clear so all may advance together and no one is trampled by the wagons.
“Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them”—
which in West Palm Beach translates roughly to box trucks, dollies, and someone asking where their booth is.
Further dispatches (gate access, final instructions, and last-minute intelligence) will follow as we approach set-up day.
“When can their glory fade?”
Certainly not before 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
We appreciate the discipline, good humor, and professionalism you bring to this show. Booth by booth, charge by charge, it all comes together.
Onward,
Jon Jenkins
